Our History
Through responsive, high quality, and cost-effective services, Terry H. Jones, CPA has developed an accounting practice in the Hazleton area that has expanded since 1976 to service a number of clients annually. This growth is attributed to the firm’s commitment to personal involvement in client service, technical expertise, and practical experience that ensures complete satisfaction in services rendered.
In early 1999, Terry H. Jones, CPA and Michael W. Kohanski, CPA merged their accounting practices to form Jones Kohanski & Co., PC (JonesKohanski). The company is a full service accounting and consulting firm with offices located in Moosic and Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania.
The partners have over 50 years of combined experience in the areas of accounting, auditing, tax, financial planning and business consulting.
Our People
At JonesKohanski, we continue to hire, train, and challenge our talented personnel. All staff members receive extensive training in the services and industries we serve, leadership skills and technology.
Our professionals strive to be viewed as business advisors, beyond the traditional accountant or auditor role. We study our clients’ businesses and industries thoroughly, offering insights into how they can be more efficient and cost effective, and devising appropriate solutions for complex financial and financial and transactional matters. JonesKohanski utilizes a “proactive team approach” to all of its services that actively involve the client in a two-way understanding of the how’s and why’s of our services and recommendations. We believe that client involvement at all levels through open communication results in a more informed and higher valued relationship.

Our Community
At JonesKohanski, we believe strongly in the value our firm and our clients bring to the communities we serve. Because of this belief the partners, mangers and staff of JonesKohanski are actively involved in our local communities. JonesKohanski employees serve on the Board of Directors of area organizations, participate in professional associations and volunteer for community events. Some of our recent volunteer activities include preparing food baskets for the Family to Family program and Bowling for Kids Sake.
